Wastes of time are common and also the delays of key tasks in a company caused because of repetitive faults in the applications which support its processes. The problem can be solved from the construction itself.

Assaults to internal nets or to the ones connected to Internet, which undermine the security of the systems of the companies, are just a part of the problems that must be faced for productivity which relies on tools of information technologies (IT). Another Achilles' heel is the quality of the software bought for their different operations and processes.

According to a Standish Group's study, mentioned by Business Week, "in just a year in The United States there were losses in productivity calculated in US$85.000 million, because of mistakes in managerial software". In Colombia, there is no serious information on the topic, but for sure among whom read this article, a significant percentage has suffered the faults which paralyze his work per hours when the "program does not start and the computer is frozen", or days because the process they have to execute "cannot be performed without that software and the program does not run in any other machine."

Fails like this ones and similar others can be and should be detected since the development of the software. In fact, because of this need one of the most dynamical areas in the big companies of IT is the one of tests. Nevertheless, in Colombia, many companies build their applications in house based on applications they are already using, and the local developers of software do not have yet the financial muscle to have their own team to test the quality of their products, for that reason faults are common and affect the general balance of the companies.
